Going to the park the park the park.....

When the weather is HOT and you are SICK of being inside you head to the park. I will provide a few tips to make sure heat exhaustion doesn't prematurely end the trip.

#1=- Wear your best shades to protect your eyes.

#2-- Wear a hat on your head if you don't like shades or are too young for them.

(For a few minutes his shirt was true.)

Then he started swinging and was able to cool off. Which leads to tip #3-- Get air moving either with a fan or by swinging high and fast.

And lastly, pack snacks like Nilla Wayfers and frozen grapes along with lots of water. Oh and try to have a good attitude, it goes a long way when your blood is boiling.

7 Months Old

I know this post is chronologically out of order since Hutch turned 7 months old long before the 4th but it is in picture order. I was a little lot late taking it and he will not look like he has changed much when you see his 8 month picture. Oh well. It was a rough month in our house. We sold a car, bought a car, fried the computer, bought a computer, had a sick kid again, and have spent numerous hours painting, cutting and nailing to finish the girls' new dream room.

As you can tell, he is a happy healthy baby. He now has 3 teeth, wears mostly 6-12mths clothes and comes close to sleeping through the night.

He enjoys a puff or two now and then. He tolerates the silly shenanigans of his sisters with grace and a smile.

Happy 4th of July

Our holiday in a nutshell--good food, yummy ice cream, scared children, injuries, swimming, and the heat. I won't bore you with details only pictures!

Athens Part 3

I know this post is a long time coming and is almost a month overdue but what a month we have had. New appliances, new automobile, computer death, sick child, new computer and lots and lots of painting. (BTW, I am changing my name to Optimus Primer effective immediately).

The last night we were in Athens we did a little more carnival with a few of the cousins. Others were missed but we will catch them next time. (Can you tell I just got my own copy of Ph0toshop?)

We had a blast and I even squeezed onto the roller coaster of doom for the last ride of the night. Chloe didn't want to ride alone so I promised them if we survived and they screamed like it was the bestest roller coaster ever then I would spring for snow cones. They were yummy and a good way to ice the bruises I received. Ouch! As always we had a wonderful trip and are looking forward to our next trip northbound.

MIA

Due to unforeseen circumstances all blog updates will be on hold until further notice. I am crossing my fingers that we will have a resolution to our dilemma by Wednesday afternoon.

Athens Part 2

Saturday morning we were all a little tired so we ended up just hanging around the house for a while. Finn and Chloe had stayed at MawMaw's house and came back to Alice's in the morning. Webb, Lillian and Wynn were anxiously awaiting their arrival and as soon as they got there, it was straight into the pool.

After they had dried off and eaten some lunch, the kids decided to go to the movie theater. They all curled up in this wonderful bed and zoned out to Shrek. They were warned that "there was no talking in movie theaters" so they stayed quiet.

After that, they took time out of their playing and running around to pose for a few pictures with Aunt Kaye.

Then Finn and Chloe did a little web-surfing and game playing at p--b--s--kids dot org.

This was followed up by interpretative drumming! Chloe had the beat for sure.

Then Granddad had to entertain the Scream Machine and did pretty well with it.

(I missed getting a picture of Alice and Scream Machine although she did hold him a lot. He even allowed himself to doze off once or twice while she walked him around. Amazing!)

Athens Part 1

(and before anyone has a comment to make yes I know I am lagging way behind and have yet to post any holiday pictures or finish this trip but I really do have a good excuse)

In the car, this is the only way Finn cannot be bothered by

a certain baby who does not like his car seat!!

Kiddie Carnival Friday Night

Both Girls loved the Rocket Ride!

A Scrambler ride that really doesn't scramble anything!

I am not sure what was going on here but I thought it was funny!

The swings were also a huge hit.

On the little swings though, they were not as excited.

More Tuscaloosa Pictures

Ummmm, yeah this week has flown by ever so quickly. We have been painting a lot of things and nailing up more things. I am hoping to finish up my Tuscaloosa and Athens posts soon so that I can talk about the 4th of July. That one is going to be a doozy. But for now, here is Tuscaloosa part 3. After we got back from visiting with Nanny, we went swimming. Aunt Kaye wanted me to take some pictures of the girls by her flowers so I did. The girls cooperated for the most part and I even was able to find a chair so Hutch could get some too.

Then on Friday morning before we headed out I did a few more in the front yard. Neither of the girls appreciated the prickle grass but really it wasn't that bad. I took more of Hutch inside in the red/black room.
