Fortune Cookie Wisdom

I have been collecting these tidbits of wisdom for months and finally decided to share because I think they can really improve your life. If you heed them, that is. So here goes----

1) Stop searching forever, happiness is just next to you.
2) Always put your best foot forward.
3) You are working hard.
4) Idleness is the holiday of fools.
5) Time is the wisest counsellor.
6) Shrimp that sleeps, the current carries it away.
7) Where there's a will, there's a way.
8) You will be fortunate in everything.
9) You will have gold pieces by the bushel.

I personally love #8 and 9! My life has been so much better since I decided to sit around and wait for my fortune and gold. Lots and lots of time at my disposal to write blog posts and play spider solitaire.

Discuss among yourselves:
What is the best fortune cookie wisdom/advice you have ever read?

And they're cousins.....

(a small group photo-- we actually had 14 cousins in the house at one point plus a few more kids with 12 of them age 5 and under!)

Last weekend we headed out early on Friday for a chance to love on E Squared and the rest of that crazy bunch we call the Marbut side. If you have been around this blog long enough (or the old one) you will know that every car trip I attempt to take to Athens involves a bodily fluid or process somewhere along the way. Most of the time it is plat which can go into the bucket and be cleaned up. This time however, it was pee and poop. Hooray! I will spare you the rest of the details but just know it was GROSS! When we arrived it was dinnertime and we ate at Jenn's. It was mass chaos and pandemonium when you cram that many adults and little kids into a house. We were very fortunate that our Texas relatives, Don, Carolyn and Aunt Avis, were there too. I did not get enough time to talk to them as I wanted but I was too busy herding cats and trying to record it for posterity. The rest of the weekend was spent playing and shopping and football watching and eating. Finn and Chloe were very sad that we had to leave as they LOVE all their cousins very much. Chloe has already planned our trip to California but I am not sure how long it will take her to pay for it. For the rest of the Athens folks, see ya'll at Christmas.

Tball and a puzzle

Monday night we had our first fall tball practice. The only reason I added this to our already busy schedule was because Chloe could play too. She had such a hard time sitting on the bleachers in the spring that I couldn't wait to sign them up.

Getting in a little fielding practice

Waiting patiently

Throwing practice

Lovely

Bored and sitting

It's hard to tell, but Chloe is holding her glove by a string because she did not want to put it back on. Why? It had dirt in it.

Where's Hutch?

Storytime

The last few weeks we have gone to story time in Andalusia. One week they discussed germs and the kids were able to see some germs using special soap and a big purple machine. This past week, firemen were there with their fire truck.

Hutch was wearing a special outfit and really enjoyed the demonstration. All the kids were promised a tour of the fire truck but unfortunately after just a few minutes outside this is what we saw--

Someone needed help and off they went.

MDO--TD'S

Chloe finally got to start big girl school aka Mother's Day Out this past week. To say she was ready to break in her backpack and have somewhere to go would be an understatement. She was so excited and so was I. Only a few more months and Hutch can join her and voila a stretch of 4 whole hours where nobody will need me for anything. I plan to do a LOT of reading. So come January, if you call my house between the hours of 8 and 12 on Tuesday I will not be responsible for how I answer the phone. This will be your only warning.

Hutch's newest trick-- throwing his arms up when you say "Touchdown"! Ok, it is one of his only tricks but at least it's cute right? I keep telling him that he has to get a whole lot smarter and start walking before Friday because he can't let Aubrey win in the imaginary what can your baby do developmental contest they are not participating in. I mean, she has more hair, is only 6 weeks older, can talk, play pat-a-cake, and walk. Hutch needs to step it up or the other cousins will talk. :)

Last Friday night, Finn was invited to participate in the pre-game show at the Opp game because of her attendance at the cheer camp. As you can tell, she was super excited.

She made better tattoo choices that day so Chloe got to wear appropriate team colors instead of that other one. Booo on Aubren!

Performing a cheer that has the phrase "I don't know, I never been so low" when describing the other team. It was really cute watching the girls do it.

Hutch loved the game....

or maybe it was the cotton candy!
