Game Day Antics

One of my favorite parts of Fall is the ability to do very little on Saturdays except eat and watch football. We plan menus complete with dessert and just hang out. The kids love it too, because we are usually at the gray house where anything goes. Oreos for lunch, okay. Chips and dip for a snack, you got it. Markers to draw your face, why not?

Wear the best combination of colors ever, but of course.

Want to sport your adorable coordinating shoes, you betcha!

Drink from a bottle even though you haven't done that in months, go for it.

Steal your baby brother's pap-pap, well sure.

Da Boys!

you are supposed to read the title like the old SNL skit that championed"Da Bulls!" and "Da Bears"

Here are just a few more pictures of my favorite little men.

First time in the jumperoosky did not go over well.

A grasshopper Hutch chased around the driveway for 30+ minutes. It had a missing leg so it didn't move too fast, but Hutch was not responsible for removing it. He did, however, come close to removing the remaining leg.

Some days it is impossible to get a picture of him being still. He is quite adorable though.

Yes yes she does!

A rare moment of brotherly love.

Well hello Mr. Parrot, how are you today?

Bubbles taste good!

Hands are super yummy!

So Much More

Dear Finley,
I love you. I love every crazy wacky idea you have and the way you get so tickled you can't talk. I love you even when I am completely exhausted, worn out, and think I cannot do one more thing for you. One thing that I find hard to love is your insistence on participating in the school pageant. You are so much more than poofy curled hair and makeup. So much more than heirloom dresses and Sunday shoes. So much more than fake smiles and participation medals. But because I love you so very much I let you do it. This year you were especially beautiful. You smiled so sweetly on the stage and I was so proud of you.

Just look at your face.

You are so special. And so very much more. Never ever forget that.

Love Always and Forever,

Your Mommy

Hidy or Hidey or Heidi, you pick!

Once upon a time a kitten peeked in our window. It saw a sick little girl who needed a friend. Never mind that this little girl already had two cats, a dog, and two fish in her house. So this smart little cat began to cry and meow with increasing frequency and sadness. The little girl quickly wore her mother down (sick kid crying big tears will do it every time) and so Hidey joined the family. Her name is Hidey because "she likes to hide a lot". Finn spelled it Hidy when she was writing a list for a cat toy shopping spree paid for by some of her piggy bank contents. I was going to spell it Heidi because I hate creative spellings of names, so really it could be any of the three. Here she is though, ain't she a beauty?

So far she has been a pleasure to have around and quite entertaining with her kitten antics. Hutch is having trouble being as gentle as he needs to be, but it cracks me up when he chases her yelling "HiHiHiHiDEEEEEE". Chloe loves her too but hasn't had as much time to play with her since Finn sees Hidey as only her cat for the most part. It's getting better though.
