On Sunday morning the kidlets woke up to discover the Easter Bunny had stopped by while they were dreaming. They were most excited about the umbrellas and rain boots.

J.B. had a "justincase" basket and outfit for church but he didn't end up needing them. :(

Hutch looking dapper in his sweater vest.

Sweet sisterly love!

A pretty typical picture of the three of them together.

After church while we waited for the big Easter meal, the kids hit the pool. Unfortunately our purple plastic pool has disappeared so we had to make do with a small inflatable one and a drink holder from one of Finn's birthday parties.

Big surprise that Hutch was happier on the sidewalk than in the pool. He enjoyed watching the girls splash and jump though.

After a little while the girls had splashed out a lot of their water so Hutch helped them refill the pool. He really liked doing that.

With a little help from his Daddy he did what any little brother would do. He started spraying his sisters with the hose. Boys, hmmmmm.

Saturday

Our Easter weekend was pretty jam-packed with fun so I am not going to be able to put it all in one post. I would never deny my loyal readers several posts in a row about the same stuff. It would make them way too sad. So here goes. Early Saturday morning we headed to an egg hunt. 3 kids in 3 different age groups with 2 adults means no pictures. They had a blast though and Hutch managed to get 4 or 5 eggs but only after he dropped the rock in his right hand. Finn and Chloe really racked up though. After that we went back home where we dipped eggs in dye and discovered a wonderful surprise.

this is Hutch expressing his dismay that he kept hearing "no touch Hutch"

this is Chloe showing us what she thinks of vinegar

Chloe's favorite word: HAPPY

It's one of the few she can spell and today she wrote it in her new diary. When Jeremy asked her why she wrote that word again, she said "diaries are where we write our feelings and I am happy".

Here was the big surprise. The swing set was FINALLY finished. Jeremy had to work on it off and on for several days much to the impatience and sadness of the girls, but the wait was definitely worth it.

.

The girls absolutely love it!

Hutch notsomuch. He doesn't like the swing either. What he does like is giving me heart attacks by climbing the ladder again and again with no clue how to get down.

While he is up in the fort he is very happy and proud of himself.

Then we hunted our eggs for a few rounds. The girls were sneaky creeping up on them lest those wacky eggs get spooked and run away.

What was the best way to end this Saturday? Getting to eat the eggs of course!!!

I have a post about Sunday to get to, the true story of Chloe's stitches last week to finish up, and hopefully will get to post pictures of J.B. by the weekend. Things in this house are about to get very very crazy and I can't wait!

Scenes from the Girls' Room

Today I walked into the girls' room to turn off the lights (for the millionth time) and saw the following vignettes. I didn't ask what was going on in each one, just took the pictures and left. I'll leave it up to you to decide what the story is.

I know it's hard to tell from the picture, but each animal had its own bag/purse/trunk sitting next to it.

Beans and Eggs

Here is Finn's China girl bean whom she named Max. It was carefully replanted at the gray house next to some very friendly tomato plants.

Cute Hutchie picture!

Chloe telling Hutch he stinks!

Sunday was our traditional church egg hunt at the lake. Chloe keeping a close count of her eggs.

Hutch did not get the concept and we had to work really hard to get him to pick up the eggs.

Hutch's basket of rocks and an egg.

Chloe and the Easter Bunny himherself.

Finn playing it cool, but underneath that exterior is an egg hunting machine.

Beans

In the car:

Finn: This is our bean plant. We planted a China girl bean. Well, it wasn't a real China girl, just a bean.
Me: laughter only
Finn: What's so funny?

Rhyme Time and Other Funnies

Coming into the house tonight I told the girls to put their drink in the sink. Chloe said "oooooo, that rhymes." I said "so does hop and pop". Finley then piped up, "so does excellent and smexcellent." Technically, yes, but I am not sure that would be an acceptable example in English class.
*************************

While the girls were getting ready for church yesterday, I heard the following exchange.

Jeremy: Is there a reason Clippity (the stuffed horse) is wearing high heels?
Chloe: Daddy, her hooves are broken.

*******************

Chloe spilled milk at dinner tonight and when she got upset about having to clean it up, she yelled "I'm never eating dinner again" as she ran to her room. She did end up eating a few minutes later after she had calmed down.

J.B.'s Baby Pool

26 What?

Since I now have 26 days or less, if my doctor comes through with an induction like I am hoping, then I am now in keeping busy mode. Most everything baby related is done so I sit and wait. And wait some more. I am going to start a baby poll soon so everyone can give their guess as to whether or not J.B. will be kind or stubborn. Here are a few more pictures I wanted to share that did not fit with the last post.

Finn doing business on her cell while we wait for her to pay us attention.

Hutch getting ready to plant flowers. He had just had a snack of applesauce and apparently more soaked through the bib than went in his stomach.

Some of the flowers we have planted lately. Finn and Chloe picked these out to revive my hanging baskets. We have also planted some azaleas and a couple of blueberry bushes.

Hutch was looking quite dapper today.

He has really started loving books--looking at them, being read to, and tearing them up. He has a few favorites like "Go Dogs Go" and "Each Peach Pear Plum". He can now say go and loves to find the baby in the other one.

In this picture he was bringing me one of his animals so I could throw it back in his crib. He likes to toss them out at night and make us put them back in when he wakes up. Silly boy!
