Ni- Ni- Nine Months What???

I know that you all will be shocked but I actually remembered to take his month birthday picture on the actual day. And if I hurry, it will be posted before the month ends.

This month Hutch has started pulling up to his knees and almost gotten all the way up to his feet. I don't think it will be long before he gets that down pat. We have started using the playpen to corral him because he is darn fast. Way faster than me. Eating is going well and he is loving the table food he is getting. Laziness on my part means he gets a combination of baby food and table food still but again I don't think it will be long before we just say no more jars. And if you look closely at the last picture, oh yeah, that's hair a growing on his little bald melon.

Pageant Princess

Last night Finn participated in yet another extracurricular activity-- the Little Miss OES pageant. I wasn't really happy about her wanting to be in it, but she said she wanted too really bad. So I sent in her money and a picture for the Miss Photogenic category. Finn says she had fun but I am not sure we will do it again. 16 girls in her group and 5 awards, you do the math. She was really excited about her ginourmous lollipop and participation medal though.

Oh No Boys!!!

Some of you might have seen my Facebook update about Finn and her boyfriend Damien. She said he had brown hair, is cute, and has a Phineas and Ferb backpack. He has also been line leader so that makes him super special. Well today, she held up the car line again to run back and give him a hug. the troublesome part that makes me wonder how well she is supervised at school is what she said today. When I asked her why she did that, she replied "I had to do it, he's my husband." I am not sure if her teacher performed the ceremony or if that shady troublemaker JR did it but I am not happy. We didn't even get to throw her a proper tea or shower. :(

Chloe is apparently married too based on a conversation we had last week. She was getting dressed and it went something like this----

C: If Daniel was here he would help me.
Me: Who's Daniel?
C: My husband.
Me: What does he look like?
C: He is big, wears overalls with a shirt and a skirt. When I get done at gymnastics he is going to go in the boy's bathroom and take off his overalls. Then we are going to hula.

That Daniel sounds a special guy. Chloe is a very lucky lady.

Bobcat Pride

Finn has been in school for eleven days and I have spent more than I care to mention on t-shirts and extras. I know this is just the beginning but it would be a lot easier to avoid these extra expenditures if Finn couldn't read. Every paper that comes home, she peruses, so she knows what is going to happen. Today was cheer camp. For the bargain price of $10 she got to learn a few cheers and participate in Spirit Night. She will also be able to go on the field at a football game. Now that is impressive. I think she enjoyed showing off her Bobcat pride!

Oh and stay tuned to find out what extracurricular activity she convinced me to sign her up for next Saturday. It promises to be a hoot!!!

Ummmmm, what?

I am not really sure how this happened but here we are again. Hutch has gotten even older and is now 8 months old. Between 7 and 8 months he has had a lot of wild and wacky things to happen. He has learned to crawl (yikes), tasted a handful of things that he shouldn't have (paper and a couple P0lly P0cket pieces), and is beginning to pull up to his knees. I am so not ready for any of this but here we go. He eats well and is still on a mixture of baby and table food. His favorite people other than me are Finn and Chloe who can always get a smile. He is also getting more and more expressive as each day passes. He makes the cutest faces but my favorite one is when he sniffs through his nose and scrunches his whole face up. Adorable!

Last but not least, he now has 4 teeth on top and 2 on the bottom. I have no clue how much he weighs or how tall he is but we will find that out next month. He definitely keeps me on my toes but I wouldn't have it any other way.

More Chloe Quotes

TeeTee (while watching the movie Up): They are in South America. We live in North America.

Chloe: Is that how you say Opp in Spanish?
*********************************************

Chloe: I'm just like a ladybug because we are both very lucky.

Chloe (while sticking her foot in Hutch's face): Well he likes it. Boys like stinky stuff!

Kindergarten Kutie

Bright and early last Friday morning we got up and shipped Finn off to the big world of kindergarten. It has been a huge learning experience for all of us as we navigate the drop-off/pick-up lines and figure out how to entertain ourselves all day without the ringleader. That last one applies mainly to Chloe.

She was so very excited to get her picture taken. That is not normal but I took full advantage of it.

Proud parents!

Sad but proud TeeTee. She took this whole growing up event harder than the rest of us.

So far, I have seen lots of worksheets come home and she has even had homework. I have heard stories of kids who get into trouble and how she got lost when she had to walk in by herself. She told me "a big grown-up type person told me I missed my turn so I went back and found my room". She isn't fond of getting up early and neither am I, but I am hopeful after a few more weeks, the routine of it all will help.

Chloe quotes about Finn and school:

"I am making a picture that says Finn I love you please come home from school".

"I will give you money from my piggy bank Mom if you will take me to the gray house".

"But I am doing Mommy school, can't I be in the pageant?"

I blinked....

and this

became this.....

Tuesday, August 3, 2010

During the second week of July, the girls attended a VBS all about heroes at a nearby church. They loved it. Not only did they learn a lot, they had lots of fun. Starting with Monday each night had a special theme that included hats, hair and odd outfits.

Monday was crazy hat night but I did not manage to get a picture of that one. Tuesday was Tacky night. The girls loved it and as you can see so did the rest of us. All week TeeTee and I were their stylists and our motto was "Go Big". We put a lot of effort and planning into their outfits.

Wednesday was "dress like your favorite superhero night". Finley was sorta Supermann and Chloe was Water Woman. What, you don't know who Water Woman is? Where have you been? I promise you can find out who she is if you use googull. I did.

Thursday night was "crazy hair night" and boy did we go big. Floral wire, hair gel, hair spray, and more hair gel achieved the 'do's or don't's you see below. This was a really fun night although Chloe wasn't a big fan of the time it took to achieve it.

Stay tuned for some family night pictures involving a 30 foot water slide!
